Admittedly, I really am not one of those Moms who go out to the grocery store all decked out. No runway style make-up, fashion iconic wardrobe, and just blown out hair style here with this Mama! Oh and Heels....Ha! I once purchased a pair of high heels that were just that..High. They were edgy and cool matching my night out attire perfectly. (This was Pre-Mama) I made it out my door, to the car, and as I walked up to our friends house, I tripped and fell. Those Heels never made it out on the town, at least not on my feet.
Don't get me wrong, I am not "Letting Myself Go." I do make an attempt, if a small one, an attempt nevertheless. I do put on a little make-up mostly to hide my dark circles. Which on my pale skin, makes me look more like a drug addict than an over exhausted Mama! I do own a fancy, well fancy at the time, Chi Flat Iron. I just never use it. I do not own a hair dryer nor do I really have any real hair products in my bathroom. My go to style is throw on some yoga pants, find one of the ..um...4 shirts that fit, sneakers, a little make-up to look alive (not fabulous, just alive) and a french braid or a bun. Then I am out the door.
I do not own 50 pair of shoes, just a modest 5-8. I desperately need to go clothes shopping, but cant justify it until I loose the baby weight and my size is more consistent. Quite honestly, I hate clothes shopping! I look, buy and bring home to try on. If it doesn't look good, I bring it back. Easy Peasy. I honestly don't really have a style, or probably any concept of style. I just wear what I like. It seems in my adolescent years, I had more style than now. In some ways style was easier then, but in others more difficult.
Yesterday, my husband treated me to a few glorious hours of sitting in a salon chair and getting my hair pampered. I have not had my hair colored for over 1 1/2 years, since before Starr. I haven't had my hair cut and blown out for about 6 months or longer. Let's just say it was needed!
I love my hair stylist! She is amazing and down to earth. I find that last quality hard to find in people in South FL. Not impossible, just a little tough to find. She works at an Aveda spa and is great! She takes her time, listens to what you really want and then will give her expert advice. She is a true testament to someone who is passionate about what they do. It is not merely a job for her, but this is something she really enjoys. Thus, resulting in one Happy Mama!
After 2 1/2 hours, great conversation, a scalp massage and warm towel later.........
I am a red head again, with healthy light silky soft hair. Yay! No more Frumpy Mama for awhile :)
This is why I love you, lol. I own 4 pairs of shoes. 3 are flip-flops. The 4th are a pair of flats I bought just for the baby shower event I just went to, hahahaha. I own one purse. It was a gift. I stole my sister's blow dryer but have never used it, and I TRY to make myself flat iron my hair at LEAST twice a week. AT LEAST. Usually this doesn't happen for very long, lol. Totally better things to prioritize my time with, but you can't beat the feeling of just getting your hair done.
