Farewell Halloween

Ahhh... Yes, the Sweet and Scary night of Halloween has passed us now. This Halloween season was filled with parties, crafts, Monster cookie creations, Pumpkin Patches and more. Leaving behind only the reminiscence of empty candy wrappers and severe sugar crash!

This year for Halloween we were all our separate characters. Starr was Snow White, Grayson Tow mater, and David and I with our infinite last minute procrastination were an old couple...Oswald and Henrietta, but to add a punch line and our own interpretation we carried books with us...Thus we were "Old School." I am sure many didn't get it but we did and it made our night interesting as we interacted with one another in our older persona's. It was a little secret that we shared and chuckled to ourselves about. It didn't matter who "Got it" or Didn't get it" we were Oswald and Henrietta doing it Old School style!

We made two stops this year rushing out of the house at 6:00pm. We made a round at a friends neighborhood before ending our evening with Grandma, Papa, Aunt Barb, Uncle Eric, and Graysons three cousins Ryan, Jack and Avery. Boy did Grayson have a blast!! He was running from door to door with his older cousins squealing in delight. Grayson omitted the classic "Trick or Treat" replacing with a very excited "Happy Halloween" following with a "Thank You" after grabbing candy to his hearts content.

Our evening ended much later than anticipated and with a little resistance from our twoddler. After about 2 lollipop's, (didn't finish either of them) a tiny twizzler and 4 M&M's later...Candy was all that G-Man could think about and the Crash was coming on HARD! We returned home and G-Man was playing for about an hour..finally at 12:30am I had to turn off the phone (he had been watching Cars on You Tube..A tactic my hubby uses to get G-Man to sleep on nights he fights it. He swears his method works in about 15 mins.) Though on this Late Halloween evening or early November 1st day it was 12:30am  (half an hour later) and G-Man was still wide awake. He seemed to have received a complete sensory overload with his Halloween evening and did not want to shut down. That on top of the dwindling sugar in his little system. I had to pry the phone from his hands and he put up as much of a fight as he could. He screamed and declared he was hungry then thirsty..screamed some more..before finally at 12:45am giving in to what his body really yearned for..SLEEP! Though because of our late evening and stimulating night his sleep was interrupted by night terrors and nightmares induced by lack of sleep.
As for Starr...She was asleep on the way home but just as awake as G-Man! What are you to do, I mean it is only one night a year after all. I'd say this year was a fun year for G-man as he knew a little more about what was going on. He had fun! That is what being little is all about, Big Adventures and tons of Fun!

** All we used were some clothes that ..Yes..Sadly were in our closet.. Make up, empty glass frames, and some baby powder.
